
On 17th July 2025, CoST Uganda will host a Validation and Dissemination Workshop to present, validate and launch its 6th Independent Review Report, for a study conducted by an independent consultant on 10 Road Infrastructure projects under the Ministry of Local Government through the PRELNOR and LEGS programs in five districts of Nwoya, Gomba, Kitgum, Kabarole, and Ntoroko. The report shall be launched at Golf course Hotel with the following aims:
- To Validate findings and gather stakeholder feedback
- To Affirm commitments to implement recommendations from the report
- And launch the report
Key participants shall include invited officials from Ministry of Local Government-MoLG, Ministry of works and transport-MoWT, Office of the Prime minister, Ministry of Finance Planning and Economic Development, Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets -PPDA, Africa Freedom of Information Centre-AFIC, Media representatives, and 5 Accounting District representatives from where the 10 projects were implemented. The final report will be shared widely through CoST platforms.
Workshop Format: To maximize participation, workshop will be held physically featuring:
- Welcome remarks by the Executive Director AFIC
- Opening Remarks from the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government
- Presentation of the Independent Review Report findings by CoST Uganda Manager
- Benefits of the Independent Review Process By CoST IS representative
- A panel discussion including the consultant and sector experts.
- A press briefing and launch of report by the Champion -Rt. Hon. Minister of Works and Transport.
This workshop marks a critical step in providing an evidence-based assessment of the performance, transparency and governance for Road infrastructure projects in Uganda.
