CoST Uganda’s Responsible Infrastructure Project: How the Pilot Recommendations are being Turned into Action
Overview
In September 2024, the CoST Uganda chapter, supported by CoST-The Infrastructure Transparency Initiative, received funding from the UK’s FCDO to pilot the Responsible Infrastructure Campaign. Project attracted a strong Partnership between CoST, AFIC, with KCCA. The project analyzed 12 road projects and engaged communities, media, CSOs, and officials. It tested 32new data standards on sustainability and climate finance aimed at strengthening transparency and accountability in infrastructure delivery. And recommendations have resulted into infrastructure Project publications, installation of a real time air quality monitoring equipment and development of Municipal Development Forums (MDFs) at KCCA.
